Central Ohio has a wonderful climate for growing many medicinal and culinary herbs! We will talk about WHERE they would like to grow and WHAT they need to thrive (location, soil type, sun/shade). Let's learn about HOW to grow them from seeds or cuttings. Participants will take home live plants to start their own medicinal gardens! Handouts are included. Besides learning about herbs that are easy to grow and provide ample benefits to our well-being, we will learn to identify common "weeds" that may already be present in our backyards and have medicinal or culinary value. Weather permitting, we'll take a short tour of the gardens at the Columbus Garden School at the end of class.
In this HANDS-ON class you will find some answers to your herbalism questions, and you will gain clarity about the next steps you may want to take on the herbal path. Class takes place at CGS and is limited to 12 students.
Materials fee (plants) $15 + $25 class fee = $40
