This is a guided tour of Native Plant Trust’s Garden in the Woods in Framingham, Massachusetts. It is an outing arranged by the Piscataqua Garden Club that is also open to York Land Trust members. Given the driving distance, we will be coordinating carpools for this program.
Native Plant Trust’s naturalistic botanic garden just west of Boston showcases more than 1,000 species of native plants on 45 acres sculpted by retreating glaciers into eskers and steep-sided valleys, with a brook, pond, and wetlands. Here you’ll find inspiration for your own garden and a new appreciation for the varied plant life of our region.

Program information:
The tour begins at the Native Plant Trust at 10:30am, but we will aim to arrive between 10:00am and 10:30am. This means that we’ll need to gather at 8:00am at York Land Trust to carpool down to Framingham.
You may visit the gift shop and garden shop afterwards to purchase native plants.
Registration is capped at 40 people.

Payment of $17.50 at the time of registration covers the cost of admission and the tour. You may pay online via the registration form or send a check payable to York Land Trust at 1 Long Neck Marsh Road, York, ME 03909.
We will help facilitate carpools, but you may also choose to arrange your own transportation.
You may bring a packed lunch or coordinate with your carpool group to go out for lunch.
The main path through the Garden is a mile-long loop with a crushed-gravel surface, requiring about an hour to an hour and a half to walk. Benches are dispersed throughout. The natural terrain is rugged, with a steep slope at the entrance and exit.

Registrants that live in Maine will gather at the York Land Trust parking lot at 8:00am to carpool. For those attending from New Hampshire, carpools can meet up wherever makes the most sense to you.
