Welcome to the Garden Gateway Workshop!
This month’s gathering focuses on deepening our connection to the fall garden while preparing for the colder months ahead. Together, we’ll continue cultivating knowledge, sharing food, and strengthening community through hands-on learning.
Gardening Topic – The Fall Farm: Pruning, Seed Saving, and Plant Propagation
This session will explore essential fall garden practices that prepare plants for winter and ensure next season’s success. Participants will learn techniques for proper pruning to maintain plant health, how to collect and preserve seeds for future planting, and simple methods for propagating plants through cuttings and divisions. These practices not only extend the life of the garden but also foster sustainability by saving resources and strengthening self-sufficiency. Attendees will gain practical skills they can apply immediately in home and community gardens.
Nutrition Topic – Fire Cider: Cold Season Herbs and Fresh Foods for Health
As the weather cools, nutrition and immunity become central to wellness. This month’s cooking session will feature Fire Cider, a traditional herbal tonic crafted from raw apple cider vinegar infused with powerful ingredients like garlic, onions, ginger, hot peppers, and herbs. Participants will learn about the health benefits of each component, methods of preparation, and ways to incorporate Fire Cider into daily routines to support immune strength and vitality. The workshop will highlight the importance of using local and seasonal produce to sustain health throughout the colder months.
In order to help us better prepare for accurate numbers of attendees we are asking for a small deposit ($7) to register for the workshop. Once you attend you will receive a voucher to spend the deposit at the Village Market Place.
