With roots in the Industrial Age, the Chapman Coal Company Garage and Stable has long been an architectural icon in NW, Washington, D.C. The building has served many purposes starting as a coal yard and stable, then was converted to a manufacturing facility with a public parking garage. In 2013, the site was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. For its newest chapter, the building’s soul has been resurrected as 114 residential condominiums, with architectural details evoking its storied past.
Within the half-block site, the hallmarked landscape includes a contemporary central courtyard and multiple layers of densely planted green roof gardens. The courtyard bridges the historic Stable building with a newly designed contemporary addition at the rear, with patios and balconies facing inward toward the decorative courtyard gardens.
A ramped path, gathering spaces, water features, sculptural elements, meadow gardens, and decorative lighting bring the multi-level garden courtyard to life. Ground floor gardens, with a unifying plant palette, continue the length of the building. Intimate terraces provide ample seating and entertainment space for homeowners.
Thoughtfully designed rooftop gardens encompass decks for relaxing, while more public open spaces at this level are designed for community use, cocktail parties, grilling opportunities, and outdoor entertainment.

Refund Policy
Cancellations and Refunds will be granted according to the following schedule:
Up to two (2) weeks in advance: 50% (Deduction represents administrative processing fees)
No refunds will be made for cancellations thirteen (13) days prior to event
No refunds will be made for “No Shows” (a person who registers for a program but who does not cancel registration or attend the program).
Refunds will be processed as they are received or after the conclusion of the program, depending on the program date and when cancellation occurs. Refunds may take five (5) to seven (7) business days to process.
