About the eventMRC aims to implement sustainable, Low Impact Development practices at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House in Palm Bay, Florida. One of the cornerstones of this sustainability goal is the rain garden and native plants. At our Garden Day, volunteers will help with routine maintenance of our rain garden and native plants around the Lagoon House campus. In addition to priming native plants for a successful spring, rain gardens help filter stormwater run-off before entering the Indian River Lagoon, helping to reduce nutrient pollution.
What will volunteers do?
Volunteers will assist with weeding, repotting, planting, and maintainence of the Palm Bay Lagoon House.
