About this Event

Join us for our second Food Waste Prevention Week chat at Teaism’s Dupont Circle location! Over tea and an upcycled snack in the restaurant's garden, we'll swap ideas for making use of commonly wasted food ingredients. Then, Teaism gardener and tea importer Brian Wright will speak about shifting Teaism's garden over to native plants (an update for those of you who attended last year!).

ABOUT:

This event is in celebration of (April 7-13). During the week, in-person events across the country, as well as webinars, contests and social media campaigns, promote reducing food waste, which is a major drain on resources and significantly contributes to climate change. Rachael Jackson / Eat or Toss - Rachael’s work has been the impetus behind past years’ #RescueDishDC weeks, where restaurants of all sizes highlighted food waste-fighting menu items across the city. Her project, “Eat or Toss,” creates space for answering common questions about if food can still be used, or if it needs to go in the trash. Follow on social media and get your answers at EatorToss.com!

Brian Wright is a multi-passionate extraordinaire; a tea expert and tea importer; a dedicated gardener and composter, meticulous wood worker and a master instructor of taekwondo. Brian has recently been working on populating Teaism Dupont Circle’s garden with native plants, working from experience he gained with NPS’ W**d Warrior Program. You can follow his tea-fueled nature photography on Instagram.
