“A woman’s sacrifice, revenge, and a dynasty’s undoing.”
Experience 'Gandhari', a powerful Hindi mythological drama and a modern reimagining of one of the Mahabharata’s most enigmatic queens. Produced by Rangbhoomi theatre group (marking 36 iconic years in Delhi Theatre), this play portrays Gandhari not as a mute symbol of devotion, but as a woman forged by betrayal and resistance. This is her story, ‘Beyond the Blindfold’.
Deceived into marrying a blind king, Gandhari enters a life built on concealment. In the wreckage of her dreams, her blindfold becomes a searing act of defiance—an oath of vengeance. In this striking live performance, the stage transforms through shifting voices and fractured loyalties. Watch a tour-de-force of acting as the protagonists bring to life iconic figures, including Bhishma, Duryodhan, Draupadi, and more.
Written by Jayvardhan and directed by J.P. Singh, this live theatre performance is more than a story of the past. It is a provocative meditation on the peril of chosen blindness and the cost of denied dignity.
When injustice is endured too long, history does not remain buried—it returns as the Mahabharata.
