About this Event
Join mayamada and event partner King for an engaging and insightful event as part of the "Do I Look Like a Gamer?" video game representation campaign! For this edition of Games Industry Explained, we're delving into the changing landscape of the video game industry and exploring the skills, talents, and qualities aspiring professionals will need to start and navigate a successful career.
Despite being a popular source of entertainment for many consumers, actually building a career in video games can be a daunting task that comes with many questions. Both from those who aspire to work in the industry as well as parents, guardians and carers supporting their journey into the UK's multi-billion pound creative industry.
This event provides an opportunity for young people, parents, and educators to gain insights from industry professionals at the start of their journey. Hosted by Candy Crush makers King at their central London headquarters, attendees will hear first-hand experiences from professionals carving their niche in this evolving industry. They'll learn about the challenges encountered, successes celebrated, and the character quirks that led them to success in their chosen career paths - from game development and design to marketing and beyond.
