About this Event
Ann H. Sievers, Director and Curator of the Art Museum at USJ, will present a Gallery Talk discussing the current exhibition About Face: Portraits and Self-Portraits from the Collection. A simple definition of portrait is “a pictorial representation of a person,” however, artists have long imbued their portraits and self-portraits with symbols and telling details that reveal social status, character, and other aspects of personality. Ms. Sievers will talk about these different methods artists employ and how she determined the selections and groupings for this exhibition.
This event is free and open to the public but space is limited; registration is requested. For questions or more information contact Rochelle Oakley at [email protected] or 860.231.5743.
