A mitologikus-szürrealisztikus művészeti világ kortárs adaptációjával Gallai sajátos, jól felismerhető formanyelvet alakított ki. Legújabb kiállítása az anyaság egy specifikus élményét járja körül a várandósságtól a kisgyermek-anya kapcsolatig.

A You Can Hide In Me / Elbújhatsz bennem tárlaton megjelenő videó, festmények, kollázs és objekt az alkotó Titkos kert sorozatának gondolatiságát viszik tovább. A művek középpontjában anya és gyermeke áll hol valós, hol egy fiktív, idealizált, természeti környezetben, mely lehetőséget ad a biztonságos, nyugodt együttlétre. A külső és a belső terek összemosódnak a műveken, ahogy anya és gyermekének határai is.
A szoptatás motívuma végigkíséri a műveket, megmutatva, hogy ez a kapcsolódás nem csak lelki, de testi is, hiszen a születés után az anyatejen keresztül éppúgy összekapcsolódik kettejük szervezete. A kiállítás ezt az intim kapcsolatot tárja a nézők elé, ahol a gyermekét hordozó és óvó anya maga is elbújna a világ elől egy háborítatlan, zárt térbe, hogy újraépítse önmagát.

Through a contemporary adaptation of a mythological–surrealist artistic world, Gallai has developed a distinctive and instantly recognizable visual language. Her latest exhibition explores a specific experience of motherhood, from pregnancy to the early relationship between mother and young child.
The exhibition You Can Hide In Me presents video, paintings, collage, and object that continue the conceptual framework of the artist’s Secret Garden series. At the center of the works stands the figure of the mother and her child, sometimes situated in a real, at other times in a fictional or idealized natural environment—one that offers the possibility of a calm, protected togetherness. External and internal spaces merge within the works, just as the boundaries between mother and child begin to dissolve.
The motif of breastfeeding runs throughout the exhibition, revealing that this bond is not only emotional but profoundly physical as well: after birth, the bodies of mother and child remain intimately connected through breast milk. The exhibition opens this intimate relationship to the viewer, portraying a mother who carries and shelters her child while herself longing to retreat from the world into an undisturbed, enclosed space in order to rebuild herself.
