gala dragot makes art-pop for girls who feel too much. By the age of twenty, she had already achieved reality TV fame (as the winner of The Voice Kids) and reached the final of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023, signed major record deals, and ultimately left it all behind to make music that really matters.
Think of Björk’s eccentricity mixed with Rosalía’s drama, but set against the backdrop of endlessly scrolling through social media at 3 am and longing for someone who doesn’t exist. She writes about the things we don’t say out loud: digital obsession, a downward spiral of body image, waiting to be chosen.
Her music sounds like a collision between classical training and glitchy chaos, with strings that haunt you and electronic sounds that feel different. After a collaboration with Zwangere Guy and The Subs, gala said, “Fuck it,” and went independent. Now she’s creating her most honest work to date: an EP about a girl being online, wanting it all and rotting away on the spot. No filter, no label, just vibes and feelings.
