About the Speaker
Shannon Ridley

Response and Remediation Program - Brownfield
Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division
Shannon manages the Georgia Brownfield Unit, administered in the EPD’s Land Protection Branch, Response and Remediation Program. As the Brownfield Coordinator, she manages the technical and regulatory requirements of the Program while still meeting redevelopment needs. The Georgia Brownfield Program oversees the voluntary investigations and cleanups of brownfield properties pursuant to the Georgia Brownfield Act. The Program also certifies eligible brownfield costs for property tax abatement. Prior to becoming Georgia’s Brownfield Coordinator, she served as an environmental engineer in EPD’s Hazardous Waste Management Program and later the Brownfield Program. Before joining EPD, she worked as an environmental consultant for the US Environmental Protection Agency Region IV, supporting the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan -- but she was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia.

Directions
MARTA
If you Take MARTA, get off at GA State Training Station, Take Stairs/Escalator Up to the State Offices. Once you’ve gone through security, walk across to the East Tower. Do not go to the Plaza Level. Instead, take the elevator to the 14th Floor to Room 1458 or the Director’s Office Reception Area next door.
Driving/Parking
If driving, use the Pete Hackney Parking Deck. It is $10 to Park. Go to the 5th Floor and walk across the bridge. Take the elevators/stairs to the 3rd Level/BR Level. Walk across the Bridge into the Floyd Building to security. After security, take the elevators immediately to the left, behind the “Bridge” mural, to the 14th floor. Go to Room 1458 or the Director’s Office Reception Area next door.
