A moorland walk on the edge of West Yorkshire, lead by an experienced, empathetic guide and qualified Mountain Leader.This walks goes from Walsden across Langfield Common to Stoodley Pike, a memorial commemorating Napoleon's abdication in 1814, and return via the Pennine Bridleway.
We'll also pass Gaddings Dam, a popular bathing spot and site of the infamous Todmorden Beach. Bring your swimmers if you fancy a dip enroute!
Most of this walk is on old packhorse routes / moorland tracks with some canal paths and tarmac roads. It may be muddy and marshy in places.
Approx. 9 miles / 15km, 1000ft / 300m climb.
Expected to take approx. 5 hours.
Well behaved, friendly dogs are welcome, but will need to be on leads for a lot of the route due to livestock. They must also be agile or small enough to get over stiles easily.
Children aged 8+ are welcome

As with all Abigail's Trails, this is a small-group guided walk led by a professional Mountain Leader. Spaces are limited and cost £15 per person.
