About this Event
Come join comedian Gabey Lucas and Sew Generously Bespoke for a work-in-progress preview of her new stand-up hour before it ships off this August to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Gabey has a comedy show to do, but she also has to get in her daily butt exercises… or else. Apologies if they overlap. Meanwhile, let's discover the magic of mediocre ice hockey, 14,784,378 dried red beans and Swiss Guard fashionistas. Plus, there are potentially two whole different whales in this show. That's 200 to one infinity percent more whales than most shows. But(t) no promises.
This is an unticketed preview show with suggested donations between $5 to $15, but please RSVP via Eventbrite as seats are limited.
ABOUT
Gabey Lucas is a Seattle comedian who's been called “a f&%^ing great writer” (Patrick Borelli, The Tonight Show) and "witty yet strangely informative" (some internet commenter). Formerly the humor columnist for The Ubyssey in Vancouver and now a semi-retired SB Nation writer, she's performed from New Zealand to New Orleans to North Macedonia including at Hell Yes Fest, Rip City Comedy Festival, the Ohrid Summer Comedy Marathon, and the Edinburgh Fringe.
Praise for Gabey and her first Edinburgh Fringe show, A Berkshire Boar Walks Into a Bar:
"Delightfully odd slice of dumb history with equally absurd gags" (Wee Review Scotland)
"Highly watchable, absurd ... with some absolute pearls. Gabey makes it look easy" (Terry Pratchett & Nirvana biographer Marc Burrows)
“Flat out great jokes that I’ll be playing back in my head for ages ... You're missing out on something pretty special if you don't see this.” (Mad Dogs of Cambria podcast)
“An absurdist introspection-lord” (Sam Miller, StandUp! Records)
“Gabey was brilliant ... It deserves to sell out.” (Official EdFringe 2024 audience review)
"Good set. You look like Napoleon Dynamite's sister." (Someone in the YouTube comments)
