Fundraising event for Guitars for vets. There will music by local musicians, a guitar(s) auction and merchandise for sale. All proceeds go directly to the national Guitar for Vets organization.Guitars for Vets was created to bring music into the lives of Military Veterans suffering from PSTD, combat stress, or other related issues by teaching vets to learn to play guitar. After 10 lessons, the Veteran is awarded a new guitar and guitar package. Your donations and support will go a long way in making this a reality for many of of our well deserved Veterans by giving them the opportunity to play music.
Nearly one million of our Military Veterans are afflicted with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In fact, more soldiers have committed suicide since the Vietnam War than have died in actual battle. But many are finding hope in an unlikely place: behind the wood and strings of an acoustic guitar. The healing power of music helps soldiers cope. That’s why we provide Veterans with guitars and a forum to learn how to play. But we can’t do it without your help.
