Japanese heavy psych/stoner rock band Bahboon is returning to Australia for four shows in early 2025 and will be headlining the first ever Fuzz Island Fest at Altar Bar in Hobart!Completing the lineup are fellow fuzzonauts Geneslave, GlitchCraft, Legal Noise, Spooky Eyes and Mountains of Madness.
Formed in 2013, Bahboon's earlier sound was layered with elements of alternative/garage rock and punk, their most recent album, Thunder Ape is much heavier in nature, with influences ranging from psychedelic rock, blues, doom and even dub. Outside of Japan, the band has played shows in Korea, the UK and first toured Australia back in 2018, sharing the stage with the likes of Radio Moscow (USA) and Hobo Magic.
Geneslave was formed in a smoke filled bathroom with lighters in hand. Bringing back early elements of sludge, with inspirations such as Acid Bath and Eyehategod, and combining it with desert stoner rock.
GlitchCraft is a Tasmanian psych rock ensemble known for their captivating fusion of rock, metal, punk, and jazz. With an ever-evolving sound that pushes boundaries, they've built a reputation for delivering immersive, high-energy performances.
Legal Noise is a three-piece garage psych punk band from Hobart, Tasmania. The trio provide a giant wall of fuzz rumbling witnesses to the bone, whilst also singing alien-like lullabies in smooth space filled jams. With such a huge catalog of garage, psych rock, punk and fuzzed out riffs there's sure to be something for everyone.
Spooky Eyes is a three-piece proto-metal revival band based in Lutruwita/Tasmania. Their sound is rooted in the blues and rock of the early 60s and 70s, blending the soul of Hound Dog Taylor and Howlin’ Wolf with the power and heaviness of Blue Cheer and Sabbath.
Mountains of Madness is a beer-fuelled 'sludgy bullshit rock' band from Glenorchy, Tasmania, Australia.
