Split over two sessions, this contemporary dance workshop will simultaneously develop participants’ skills as performers and reflective practitioners, and will lead towards a public sharing of the workshop process.
Engaging in a range of activities that incorporate release-based contemporary dance techniques, somatic practices and dance improvisation, we will explore what happens when reflection arises out of physical dance practice and how the practices of drawing, mark-making and/or writing can be used to capture reflective thinking processes that subsequently feed back into dancing.
Some experience in dance, or a movement-based practice is preferable, but not essential. Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move freely in and bring water.
