Fusion Belly Dance: Turkish Skirt Choreo6 week session: 1/29th-3/5th

THE DETAILS:
We’ve got a new Fusion Belly Dance class coming your way! This session we’re leaning more towards a traditional, heavily influenced by Turkish Romani dancing. We’ll also be working with a fabulously fun prop/costume piece-the 25 yard skirt! Get ready to jump, swish and twirl with a fiery flair to a turkish bellydance standard; Masitka! It’s a super fun song with a unique 9/8 rhythm. Also, if you’re interested in dancing in the March 11th show case, this will be one of the class choreos!
WHAT TO WEAR?
Come to class in whatever clothes you comfortably move in. A bare foot or dancer slipper (no heels) is typical for this class. I will bring a case full of big skirts to practice with, but feel free to bring your own in you’ve got one.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
No dance experience is required as a break down of the movements and an explanation of the vocabulary used will be given in class. This class is multi-level, I always offer modifications and extra challenges for more advanced students. Each class consists of a basic warm up, a tutorial in the technique, then those techniques get drilled in combinations. We’ll then string those combos string together to make a fully formed choreographed routine. And we always end class with a little lead-and-follow freestyle!

Classes are located at Kinections Studio, 718 University Ave. Classes are Thursday evenings 7:30-8:30 the session runs from 1/29th-3/5th. Register for the full 6 week session for $90 (that’s $15 a class) or drop-in for $20 a piece. If you’re interested in performing in the Iron Smoke showcase, I insist on registering for the full 6 weeks and let me know by the third class-so that i can factor you into formations and featured sections.
