Fused Glass Academy 202: Intermediate Landscape - Design ElementsThis is where your skills stop following patterns and start creating atmosphere.
In this immersive 2-day intermediate workshop, you won’t just build a landscape. You’ll fabricate your own custom glass elements from scratch, then return the following week to design and construct a fully original fused glass landscape panel using those handmade components.
Two sessions. One week apart. Total creative ownership.
This is the next progression in the Fused Glass Academy for students ready to deepen their craftsmanship and begin developing a recognizable artistic voice.
Seats are limited to maintain hands-on instruction.
Prerequisites Required
Students must have completed:
Fused Glass Academy 101 – Intro to Fused Glass Basics
Fused Glass Academy 102 - The Basics of Fused Glass Landscapes
This ensures you are confident with cutting, layering fundamentals, and foundational firing concepts so we can focus on advanced fabrication and design development.
Week 1: Create Your Elements
This session expands your technical toolbox and builds your personal design library.
You’ll create:
Hand-pulled stringer for expressive lines and movement
Glass lace for intricate texture and organic layering
Custom powder wafers made in class for depth
Additional dimensional components to incorporate into your final composition
By the end of Week 1, you’ll have a curated collection of handmade elements ready for landscape design.
Week 2: Design and Construct Your Landscape
Return the following week ready to compose.
Using the elements you created, you’ll:
Develop a strong landscape composition
Layer intentionally for depth
Apply tack fuse firing schedules for dimensional results
Complete a finished 6" x 6" fused glass landscape panel
Because every element is handmade by you, no two finished pieces will ever be alike.
This class shifts you from assembling glass to truly designing with it.
