Furry Flurries: Creating Cozy Critters with Ink and Watercolor
Paint a cozy Furry Flurries scene with bunnies and baby reindeer plus a cute Christmas tree! Beginner class includes matted 8x10, bookmarks, and pattern.
This is an adult-level class, but mature kids ages 14 and up are welcome to attend if they can work independently and stay engaged for the full two hours. A parent or guardian must also be registered and present in the class.
What to Expect
In this two-hour class, you’ll enjoy a relaxed, creative evening as illustrator Lori Vafiades guides you step-by-step in painting your own cozy watercolor scene.
- Welcome & Setup – Get comfortable, meet your instructor, and receive your supplies.
- Learn New Skills – Discover simple watercolor techniques like wet-on-wet, dry-brushing, and color blending, plus playful ink outlining tips.
- Trace & Paint – Use transfer paper to easily trace the design, then bring your five snuggly birds to life with loose washes of color.
- Add Ink Details – Outline and define your birds with expressive ink lines.
- Create Bookmarks – Use leftover paints to make two coordinating bookmarks.
- Finish & Take Home – Mount your artwork in a mat, admire your creations, and take home your art—including the reusable pattern for making more!
You’ll leave with a matted 8x10 painting, two bookmarks, and the confidence to keep creating.
