Did you know that owls don’t tear apart their meals? Instead, they swallow their prey whole! 🦴 The indigestible parts—such as bones, feathers, and fur—are later regurgitated in the form of compact pellets. Over the years, we have collected a number of Short-eared Owl pellets from Malta, and now it’s time to uncover the fascinating secrets they hold. 🔎 We invite you to participate in our pellet dissection activity, part of our research on the ecology of Short-eared Owls in Malta. 🦉 The session will start with a presentation about bird ecology and their adaptations. This hands-on experience is designed for children and offers a fun way to learn about the anatomy of various animals. 🧩 The dissection process is like a puzzle where children can reconstruct skeletons with guidance from our knowledgeable staff and volunteers.
🔬 Wishing to become a biologist for a day? Join us for our third edition of this activity!
