Funk Buddy is a five-piece band based in Washington, DC performing unique funkified takes on pop and r&b hits. Together, they’ve been lighting up stages since 2024 with a mix of funky classics, tasty original grooves, and creative arrangements of your favorite jams that you didn’t see coming. Their vibe-heavy style is inspired by soul, rhythm, and undeniable funkitude. Dig in if you're a fan of groups like Scary Pockets, Lake Street Dive, Couch, and Lawrence.
Bad Luck Gold is a retro soul jazz group specializing in the groovy seventies-era organ trio and rhythm-and-blues sound. Founded in 2020 by saxophonist Graham Robertson and keyboardist Noah Bein (both of the award-winning Washington, DC funk/soul collective Everyday Everybody), the band brings a party atmosphere with hip chops to boot. A rotating lineup of expert rhythm section collaborators regularly join the band on tour, setting up a nimble pocket for gritty organ funk and saxophone hooks. You can find Bad Luck Gold’s new original singles “No Soap Radio” and “Harold Black” streaming now everywhere.
The Fruit Flies are an emerging band from the DMV area. The Fruit Flies play a mix of originals and crowd-pleasing covers and their sound has been likened to an "everything bagel of genres." While they are primarily known as a pop-rock band, they also explore R&B, funk, and even country influences in their music.
