artwork @rita_antonio_In late January and February, Portugal was hit by a series of violent storms that caused severe flooding and widespread damage, particularly in central regions like Leiria. Homes, schools, roads and factories were damaged, and many communities are still dealing with the aftermath.
This night in Brussels is a small act of solidarity. Wild Goose Chase and DÉBRIS, both closely connected to Portuguese artists and their wider community, join forces with Wrong Carpenters, Scusi, Ree Baby Simms and GARSA to raise funds for those affected. 100% of the proceeds will go to ATLAS People Like Us, a Portuguese organization working directly with communities on the ground to support rebuilding efforts.
Wild Goose Chase is a small artist-run, tape-only label based in Brussels that also organizes events and collaborations.
DÉBRIS is a Brussels-based collective exploring the space between New Beat, EBM, techno and beyond.
SCUSI (punk / bass wave BXL) is a Brussels-based quartet playing rock strongly influenced by Italian punk from the 1970s and 1980s with female vocals. Inspired by bands like Kandeggina Gang and Jo Squillo, as well as 1960s classics such as Rita Pavone, Caterina Caselli, Adriano Celentano and Lucio Battisti, SCUSI celebrates simplicity: amore and good food, served with a laid-back attitude.
Wrong Carpenters are an experimental rock duo from Brussels. Nonsense poems and sociopolitical musings are spun over a barrage of drums and detuned guitar — a prog-punk sandwich with an eclectic filling. Strange but familiar, like a crooked piece of furniture made with love.
Ree Baby Simms has been connected to music since childhood — as a piano player, graphic designer working with music and festivals for over 10 years, and event producer. The emergent DJ, recently joining the Débris collective, opens the dancefloor with post-punk and new wave gems.
GARSA is a Portuguese-born, Brussels-based DJ, producer and curator. Drawing from post-punk and wave, his sets move through EBM, electro and proggy tunes at a gritty, deliberate pace.
The event takes place at Super Fourchette, a small (but brave 💪🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️) resto–record shop–café–concert space in the heart of Brussels.
