East Midlands Social Enterprise Network Event: How to effectively raise funds through grants and the public sector.
About this Event

Join the East Midlands Social Enterprise Network for our next practical networking event, focused on two of the most important areas for organisations looking to grow their impact and strengthen sustainability: fundraising and public sector procurement.

This session will explore how social enterprises, CICs, charities, and purpose-driven organisations can access new income opportunities through both grant and fundraising routes and by winning contracts within the public sector.

We’ll look at key topics including:

  • Identifying the right fundraising opportunities for your organisation
  • Building stronger cases for support and funding applications
  • Developing sustainable income streams
  • Understanding how public sector procurement works
  • How to find and bid for local authority and public sector contracts
  • Demonstrating social value and impact in tender submissions
  • Common barriers and practical ways to overcome them

As with all EMSEN events, there will be opportunities for peer learning, networking, and discussion, giving attendees the chance to share experiences, challenges, and practical insights from across the East Midlands social enterprise sector.

Whether you are looking to diversify income, improve your fundraising approach, or better understand how to access procurement opportunities, this session will provide useful guidance and sector-focused discussion.

Guest speakers will be announced soon.

We look forward to bringing together organisations from across the region to learn, connect, and strengthen the sector together.

This event is ideal for:

  • Social enterprise leaders and trustees
  • CIC founders
  • Charity managers
  • Community project leads
  • Anyone interested in sustainable and impact-driven business in the East Midlands

As always, this is a welcoming and supportive space to connect, learn and grow alongside others working to create positive change.

We’re also inviting attendees to send us a digital poster about their organisation ahead of the event. We’ll showcase these after the talks to highlight the fantastic work happening across our network.
Email your poster to [email protected]

There will also be an opportunity for everyone to briefly introduce themselves and share what they do, making this a genuinely collaborative and connected session.

Spaces are limited — book early to secure your place.

Everyone is invited, whether you work for, own, or support the social enterprise community.

We align ourselves with Social Enterprise UK's description of what a Social Enterprise is.
