On Sat., Dec 6 The Landing will donate 20% of ALL sales from ALL vendors (Justin’s, The Buzz, Tandem, Root 43, and Twisted Gnome) to the Food Backpack Program.This program supports children in all Decorah public and parochial schools by providing backpacks of food for kids to take home on the weekend during the school year. This is especially helpful to children who get most meals from their school but lack food when they get home.
It is administered by the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. The Decorah United Church of Christ delivers the backpacks to each school.
Food collection baskets will also be onsite for the next five weeks to collect donations of non-perishable food items, toilet paper, and diapers.
