About the Free Art School
The Free Art School is a series of creative sessions run by Artist-Led St Helens, where we get together to share the stuff that helps artists actually get by. It’s about learning the behind-the-scenes bits (things like writing proposals, planning events, getting paid, or finding funding) without any jargon or pressure. Led by Claire Weetman and Gee Collins, it’s all based on the idea that everyone’s got something to teach and something to learn.
Where relevant, we will add key learning points from these sessions to the Artist-Led St Helens Wiki page, so that the information is freely available in future.
There are a maximum of 8 places available on each session.
This Session:
Funding - approaches that work for artists.
How to write that funding application... a collaborative action learning session.
We will practically and collaboratively work through a funding form with other creatives to learn about how the forms work, what they are asking for and how you might answer those questions for your projects.
