Each weekly session covers a different fundamental skill needed by every improviser, enabling us to delve into specific areas and reflect on our instinctive approaches. We will come together after a day’s work to be creative, spontaneous, let go of our inhibitions and have plenty of laughs together. By the end of the course you can expect to feel more confident in initiating scenes, character work, exploring emotional depth and playing with space. Additionally, you will sharpen your foundations in improv such as effective listening, teamwork, being present, and accepting and enjoying failures. These skills can have undeniable benefits on your social, professional and day-to-day life with many past students reporting they noticed they have increased confidence in their daily lives as well as a group of new friends. The course is open to everyone.
The course will finish with an optional class showcase on April 3rd at Rocas Bar. It will be a closed audience of just friends, family and colleagues who you can invite to come along and show their support. Each week we will work towards our showcase so that you will feel prepared and raring to go by week 6. If you aren’t comfortable performing, don’t worry - it's 100% optional.
Course dates: Feb 24, Mar 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 from 7-9pm. Showcase Thursday April 3rd
