We're partnering with Propel Nonprofits to offer trainings on Fundamentals of Board Governance & Fundamentals of Nonprofit Finance.
About this Event

Join us for a day of learning about Board Governance and Nonprofit Finance! The sessions are free to attend. You can register for one session (morning or afternoon) or both sessions. The cost of an optional lunch is $20 and will be available from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. for participants who purchase a lunch with registration.


Fundamentals of Board Governance - 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This training is designed to make you more comfortable with nonprofit finance. We’ll walk through nonprofit financial reports including the income statement (statement of activities) and balance sheet (statement of financial position). You will gain an understanding of nonprofit finance terminology, financial statements, and staff and board roles and responsibilities. This workshop is right for you if you are new to the nonprofit sector, nonprofit finance, or your position as staff or board member.

Optional lunch (must purchase ticket while registering) - 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.


Fundamentals of Nonprofit Finance – 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Board members will participate in board meetings and other engagements with more confidence and more knowledge about your role after attending this workshop. You will learn typical board responsibilities and explore the nuances of board authority and relationships. Participants will receive Propel’s Nonprofit Board Governance workbook, which includes the Fiduciary Duties of Directors of Charitable Organizations. This workshop is right for you if you are interested in board services, currently serve on a board, or are a nonprofit staff member that works for boards.
