Welcome to the Fundamentals in Haematology Education Course 2024!
Join us for an exciting in-person event at St James's Hospital. This course is perfect for anyone looking to enhance their knowledge in haematology. This four-day introductory level Haematology Education Programme provides nurses and allied health professionals, with insights into malignant and non-maligant haematological disorders.
This course provides participants with an overview of haematopoiesis and haematological diseases including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
Pathophysiology, treatment, patient management and nursing care are discussed. Additionally, key topics such as stem cell transplant, CAR-T, AYA, clinical trials, inherited bleeding disorders and clinical nutrition will be addressed.
Learning Outcomes:
The learning outcomes of this programme include:
- Greater insight of the haematopoiesis process
- Improved understanding of haematological malignancies (lymphoma, myeloma & leukaemia), their treatments and nursing management.
- Discover advances in treatment and supportive care of patients with haematological malignancies
Mode of Delivery: Face-to-face (with online supporting materials)
Course duration: 4 days - 2nd Sept, 9th Sept, 16th Sept & 30th Sept 2024
Pre-requisites: All registered nurses and allied health professionals working within the area of haematology/oncology or with an interest with haematology. You must be able to attend all 4 study days.

Audience: This course is open to registered nurses and all allied health professionals.
What will I get on completion of this course? Upon full attendance of the 4 study days, learners will obtain a Certificate of Completion as proof of training. Accredited by NMBI with 26 CEU's.
