Fun Activity for All -- Helping Our National Co-Champion Virginia Pine Tree! (see meeting point below)
Come show some love to Arlington's National Co-Champion Virginia Pine tree in Lacey Woods Park as we mulch the bare earth around it.
We'll have wheelbarrows, buckets, gloves and rakes available and feel free to bring your own.
This is a fun activity for children if they bring their own small bucket to dump mulch -- and they can get fabulously dirty so dress appropriately.
TIME AND MEETING POINT: On Saturday, January 24 at 1 pm we will meet on N. Frederick Street at the intersection with N.11th Road (nearest address is 1126 N. Frederick in Arlington, VA)
Our champion is the tallest tree visible in the park and you'll see a large pile of mulch! NO NEED TO REGISTER -- just come out.
For bragging purposes, our Pinus Virginiana has a circumference of 103 inches and height of 104 feet - usual height is only 60 feet so we are the champs!
