The Openest Mic is showing you some of the absolute best of Fitchburg and giving YOU the chance to be part of it!Join us in the stunning Simond Gallery where 100 years of art history is on proud display. Allow the words of four local-ish poets to wash over you as you ponder their meaning and your own reaction to it.
Connect with local artists in their natural habitat, then, take a walk with us. According to Google Maps, Canvas by Coff33 Corp is a 12 minute walk from the museum. If the weather is good, let’s enjoy the full moon of national poetry month together!
Once we get to Canvas, it’s time for the Openest Mic! Sets are two songs or five minutes. Maybe you’re going to be inspired by the poetry you hear, maybe you’ve had a song in your heart for a while, maybe you’ve just want to make people laugh. We welcome anyone to our stage, all ages are welcome as are all talent levels. We have had ALL types and there’s been something to be said for every one of ‘em!
Don’t feel like going onstage? Totally fine! There’s still a fun night to be had just soaking in the vibe. We strongly encourage you to bring food into Canvas and there are tons of delicious local options that deliver or you’ll be walking right by!
Maybe that sounds like a lot. Come for part! There’s no obligation to be around for every single word, but it’s definitely worth checking out. The world needs YOUR art, let’s see it!
