Wales’ thriving ecstatic dance community is here! ✨
Special guest DJ Anna-Lisa will take us on a journey this Full Moon on the Beach 🌕, exploring dance as medicine—an invitation to release, surrender, and come home to the body.
Join us to move to soul-invigorating, booty-shaking, heart-softening music and everything in between. A space to release whatever is present in our lives and to be free, embodied, and unapologetically ourselves through the medicine of dance.
Our Full Moon Dances offer a sacred container to honour the lunar cycle—to return to the rhythm of nature and reconnect with our wild and wonderful selves. Dancing under a full moon is a powerful practice: a way to honour our aliveness, express freely, let go, call things in, or alchemise what needs to be met.
🌊We invite you for an evening of freedom, nature and heart felt community connection to dance with the elements at the beautiful Oxwich Beach. Join us round the fire or for a sauna session after the dance (50min sauna session at Ty Sawna is £12 from 7pm).🪵
Our dancefloor location will be in a secret sand dune away from the crowds, with plenty of space to move with the sea, sand and sky. This dancespace is one not to be missed, a true nature immersion!
✨ What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic Dance is a free-form movement practice that guides dancers through an embodied journey of inner discovery, joy, and freedom. This is a self-led, expansive space with no rules—just a few simple guidelines:
🌀 We dance barefoot, grounding into the earth
🌀 We dance without words, letting the body speak
🌀 We dance without substances—no alcohol or drugs. We dance on the high of our own pure energy
🌀 We dance without technology, staying fully present
🎵 Our DJ will guide us through a beautifully crafted, worldly, and eclectic set—weaving waves of genres and energies to get the body moving and the soul smiling. We begin with a guided somatic warm up to drop into our bodies and the land, before diving into free dance with the elements. The journey gently lands in softness and stillness, closing with slow integration and a final circle.
🎧 DJ Anna- Lisa will be gracing the decks with a magical set to let us move our inner waters, to drop in and reconnect with our untamed, unearthed and wonderful selves through the transformative power of music and dance medicine. She also hosts beach dances on Brighton beach but this wil be her debut at ED Wales on the celtic wild shores of the Gower peninsula.
🔊 Raised between the wilds of West Africa and the mystical lands of Avalon, Anna-Lisa creates transformative spaces for expression, empowerment, and play through Ecstatic Dance. Blending deep, primal bass with sensual flow and electrifying drops, her carefully crafted journeys invite expansion, wild abandon, and soulful stillness.
Founder of Ecstatic Dance Brighton and co-founder of Avalon Dance Odyssey, she is a driving force in the conscious dance scene. Her work spans Ecstatic Dance UK, Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Samsara Retreat, and major festivals like Wilderness, Boomtown, and Buddhafields. With a background in Taoist movement, well-being, and art therapy, she holds space for profound transformation through the power of dance.

If this is your first time and you’re feeling nervous, please know the Ecstatic Dance Wales team creates a friendly, welcoming, and inclusive space. We are all on this journey together, and the dance portal is co-created by everyone’s uniqueness. There is something truly special about strangers coming together to move freely with compassion and without judgment.
🌕Flow of the Evening
4:00pm- Check In & Meet at Ty Sawna at Oxwich Beach (furthest left on the beach) to walk to our secret sanddune dancefloor (12 min walk across the beach)
4:30p-Opening Circle
4.45pm – Warm Up & Ecstatic Dance
6.15pm- Closing Circle & Fireside Tea Social
7pm- Optional Sauna at Ty Sawna
🎧We use Silent Disco Headphones for an immersive sound journey, while also respecting nature and our sensitivities (we all can adjust our own volume on the headphones)!
📸 We usually have a designated photographer (announced in the Opening Circle) who may take a few short videos and photos to help share the magic of our events.
If you prefer not to be included, please let the photographer or a team member know at the start of the event.

❗️*If the welsh weather is not on our side, we have a delightful indoor space which looks over Oxwich Bay in Penmaen & Nicholston Village Hall - this will be decided on the evening prior via emails and social media*
