Screening FULL CIRCLE
What happens if we live in a society where we are no longer invited to be creative but are tempted to keep producing and consuming? A world arises in which overproduction and overconsumption are the norms, and no one really knows where the problem starts and ends. In the documentary FULL CIRCLE, we show how we can break these patterns. As a viewer, you are immersed in the world of fashion, including initiatives that show how it can be done differently. Take a look behind the scenes at the creators of our circular collection and get inspired to do the right thing.

Exposition FULL CIRCLE
After the screening of the documentary, you have the opportunity to visit the exposition. The exposition includes: the circular clothing collection designed by the three designers Leonie Vlaar, Andrea Garcia & Annalie van Doorn and created by Makers Unite from donated textile waste, photos taken by Laura van der Spek, and artworks created by Annalie van Doorn.

Clothing Swap - The SwapShop
The SwapShop is a clothing swap store with two physical locations - one in Rotterdam and one in Amsterdam. At the stores, it’s possible to swap your clothing from your own wardrobe with clothes, as good as new, with other swappers. They will also be happening during the launch event!

How does it work?
- Clean your wardrobe and select a maximum of 5 fashion items (clothes, shoes, jewellery or accessories), which are still in good condition but which you no longer wear.
- Take these items with you to the event and hand them in. You will get ‘Swaps’ (points) for these fashion pieces. The better the quality of the items or the more unique they are, the more swaps you get!
- Save your swaps in The Swapshop App (download it in advance).
- Go through the racks full of curated pre-loved items and make your move. You can try on the selected pieces on the spot.
- Found something cool? Pay with your ’Swaps’. In addition to the swaps, you pay a small amount for service costs per item.
- Still got some ‘Swaps’ left after the event? No problem! The swaps remain valid after the event and can also be used in The Swapshop stores and online.

Upcycling workshop Makers Unite
Makers Unite leads with the motto: "Making together leads to dialogue and trust". Their mission is to support newcomers in the Netherlands with access to the job market through collaborative design, production of sustainable products, and repairs. Not only that, they try to shift the narrative around migration and link newcomers to local communities.
One of their staple events, The Makers Workshop, aims to connect people with different backgrounds through the process of making something together while also rethinking current unsustainable fashion practices. It’s a safe space that provides an alternative platform to meet each other and make valuable connections.
Let’s prolong the use of our garments during this workshop together by repairing them or giving them a new twist and revalue them!
What do you need to bring?
- Clothes that need repair
- Pre-loved clothes that you want to turn into something lovable again
What does the workshop include:
- Instructions, tips & tricks on how to repair and upcycle your favorite garment
- An opportunity to get creative and revalue your garments again
Do you want to become a circular fashion hero? Join the workshop!

Clothing Reparation Workshop Denim City
REPAIR YOUR JEANS
Bring your favourite jeans and get them repaired by one of our Jean School master tailor students. This service is provided by House of Denim, the foundation behind Denim City, the denim innovation campus with a store, Jean School, a denim archive and a sustainable laundry lab based in de Hallen. Everything they do is based on sustainability, innovation and craftsmanship. Towards a brighter blue!

Ware Westen - Panel talk diversity in the sustainable fashion world
Diversity and sustainability is the topic of the panel talk that will take place after the second screening of FULL CIRCLE. This panel talk is hosted by Ware Westen, a platform for sustainable fashion in Amsterdam-West. Fashion activist and publicist Janice Deul will start a conversation at 20:00 with representatives of different disciplines and points of view. Questions like: ‘What's going well in the field of sustainable fashion?’, ‘Who are the people who make our clothes?’, or ‘How is the chain set up and how can we ensure that 'sustainability' is not just about the latest high-tech discoveries?’, will be discussed. We are committed to a constructive exchange of ideas with a surprising intermezzo, and we invite you to come to listen and join the conversation.
