About this Event

WTF is Fuckup Nights?

Failure is a part of any success story, but we don't talk about it enough. We've all been to plenty of events where people tell you how they hacked, hustled, and created their success, but very few where someone gets up and says "I totally messed up, and this is what you can learn from it."

Fuckup Nights Toronto is part of a global speaker series where stories of failed businesses and projects are shared. Each speaker is given 10 minutes and is able to use 10 images. After each speaker, there’s a Q&A session, as well as time for mingling and drinks!

Agenda:

6:30 - 7:15 pm: Registration, meeting fellow community members

7:15 - 8:45pm: Fuckup presentations + Q&A

8:45 - 11:00pm: DJ and more mingling with fellow community members!

Speakers:

: Co-Founder of Otherhalf Studio, Founder & CEO of Burgers n' Fries Forever, Co-FounderYellow Beauty

Jamil Bhuya is a serial entrepreneur and branding expert who scaled Burgers n’ Fries Forever from a single burger joint to a multi-million dollar brand with a cult following. He also co-founded Yellow Beauty, a skincare brand that landed deals with Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, and more. With a knack for marketing and storytelling, Jamil has created viral campaigns, led rebrands, and designed everything from packaging to restaurant interiors—all while turning big ideas into real impact.

Co-Founder at Three Ships

Laura Thompson is the Co-Founder of Three Ships Beauty, a brand on a mission to make natural skincare truly transparent and affordable. Frustrated by greenwashing, she and her co-founder started the company with just $2,000, hand-making products in their kitchen. Now, Three Ships manufactures locally and internationally, ensuring high-quality, innovative skincare. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Laura is also a brain cancer survivor, amateur house flipper, and passionate about product innovation and operations.

: Founder of SwiftOutbound

Ryan Ing is a Fractional Head of Growth for B2B SaaS companies looking to scale revenue fast. He specializes in fixing sales issues, laying the groundwork for founding sales hires, and building in-house lead generation systems. With experience at IBM, Oracle, Shopify, and early-stage startups, he knows how sales processes evolve at every stage. Ryan also writes the ToIRL newsletter and is passionate about transparency, hard work, and helping others. Outside of work, he’s into hip-hop, gaming, and personal development.
