Buckle up your tastebuds!
Come join us at The Coffee Commune for an evening that's a bit vintage and a bit saucy . We're talking 15+ year old, old-world style reds combined with the vibrant, beguiling flavours of chefs Lisa Liu and Lisa Mead aka Saucy Wench and Superyacht Chef. We'll be mixing it up, building colour, smells, layers and textures, tossing the rule book into the blender... and making palates dance!
BLOWFLY are producers of unconventional wines in an unconventional location—the elevated volcanic soils of the Warrumbungle Mountains. The wines are created from grapes handpicked at night and crafted specifically for aging. Dark, earthy, yet soft and sensual, these wines are aged to exception.
Lisa Liu is the award-winning Saucy Wench. She is the mistress of spice and tantalising flavours that tickle the tastebuds. What started as a spontaneous attempt to help feed the community during the Brisbane floods of 2016 has since flourished to become a thriving business bringing saucy goodness to all Australians.
Lisa Mead has been based in the Caribbean for the past 28 years, living the dream as Chef on luxury super-yachts, hosting her own syndicated cooking tv show and popular podcast, and is the author of Fine Dining Made Easy. Not only a chef, but also an artist, Lisa is equally skilled at producing inspired creations on canvas as she is on porcelain.
The evening will be a guided tour through six courses of paired food and wine. There will be surprise and joy. There will be no Xmas turkey... but there may be prawns.
