About This Course:
This 16-hour class, given over 2 days, covers the requirements of the Foreign Supplier Verification Program rule (FSVP) under the U.S. FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Participants will learn how to comply with FSVP requirements during their operations and supply chain activities. This curriculum, designed by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA), is the FDA-recognized “standard curriculum” for meeting the training requirements for Foreign Supplier Verification Program Qualified Individual (FSVP-QI).
Attendees will participate in hands-on exercise sessions where immediate utilization of lecture materials through the development of a model Foreign Supplier Verification Program. Group discussions allow for an exchange of “best practices” advice on successful implementation and maintenance of FSVP programs.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
Dr. Derrick Payne is an International HACCP Alliance approve instructor, and a Food Safety and Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) Lead Instructor with over 25 years of experience in the development, implementation, and management of regulatory and GFSI compliant global food safety and quality systems at companies like Coca-Cola, Tate & Lyle and Ralston Foods. Among his numerous academic credentials, Dr. Payne also holds a Master of Science in Food Safety from Michigan State University and a doctorate in Public Health (Epidemiology) from Walden University with a specialization in foodborne illnesses.
Attending the entire 16-hours of the course, answering questions, participating in group activities, are all required in order to earn the FSPCA-FSVP-QI certificate of training.
