Die BASIS Serie bietet Raum und Zeit die Wesensprinzipien der Contact Improvisation kennenzulernen, zu erforschen und vielfältig zu vertiefen.
Sie ist für Menschen ohne Vorkenntnisse in CI konzipiert sowie für Menschen, die sich nach einer Pause einen Wiedereinstieg wünschen.
In sieben aufeinander aufbauenden Abenden werden wir Grundtechniken der CI im Solo und im Kontakt erleben, erforschen und nach und nach in unser Tanzen integrieren. Dazu gehört Klarheit in der Kommunikation über die Haut, nützliche Körperorganisation im Bezug zur Schwerkraft, mobile Ausrichtung im Lehnen und Schwerpunkt teilen, Fallen und Loslassen, Gewicht abgeben und durchlässig organisieren, Gewicht ohne Anstrengung
einladen können.
In der Contact Improvisation wird Berührung anders erlebt als in unserem sozialen Kontext. In dieser Praxis erleben wir die Haut in ihrer Eigenschaft als Sinnesorgan. Sie hat die Fähigkeit in Berührung das sich verändernde Gewicht unserer Körper wahrzunehmen und zu lesen. In unserem Tanz mit geteiltem Gewicht verfeinern wir fortwährend die Wahrnehmung unserer Körper in Beziehung zur Schwerkraft.
Im Kontakt erleben und verstehen wir die differenzierte Kommunikation in der Contact Improvisation, das Spiel der Schwerkraft wird spürbar, ein Tanz voller Möglichkeiten und Inspiration eröffnet sich.

Elske Seidel (Berlin)
ist eine global vernetzte und international engagierte Contact Lehrerin, Tänzerin und Bewegungsforscherin. Sie unterrichtet seit drei Jahrzehnten kontinuierlich und von ganzem Herzen Tanz, Contact seit 2004.
Ihre Hauptforschungsfrage 'Das Wesen von Tanz und seine Vermittlung' motiviert seit Beginn ihres Studiums 1993 bis zum heutigen Tag den Kern ihrer Arbeit.
Elske hat eine unerschöpfliche Faszination Contact Improvisation in ihren Feinheiten und ihrer Tiefe zu erforschen und öffnet dafür den Raum und das Bewusstsein in ihrem Unterricht. Ihr Tanz und ihre Forschung sind getragen von ihrer Arbeit in der Natur, als Quelle für Wissen und Inspiration.
Einige ihrer Projekte sind: Contact Jahresgruppe Berlin, Contactjahr Hamburg, CI BASIS Fortbildung Hamburg, Nature as Teacher Workshops.

Spring Series BASICS: Contact Improvisation with Elske Seidel

The spring series BASICS allows space and time to experience, explore and deepen the fundamentals of Contact Improvisation. We will look at essential movement principles and specific techniques that support us in finding ease and flow in our movement in solo and with a partner.
When dancing Contact Improvisation we are communicating through the skin – listening into a shared point of contact – together following gravity. Understanding the language more clearly, allows us to gradually discover the depth and subtleties, opening up a field of possibilities and inspiration. As we meet in a conversation with gravity, we notice and honor what we need to feel safe and comfortable in our practice of CI.
In this series we will lay the ground, prepare our bodies, research effortlessness in movement, build skills, learn about touch, be in body-time, and enter the fascination of improvisation and play.
Classes will build up successively and are meant for people with no previous experience in CI and people who, after a longer break, and would like to restart their practice.

Elske Seidel
based in Berlin, is a passionate CI dancer & teacher, deeply committed to CI and its community internationally. She has been teaching dance full time and wholeheartedly for three decades, CI since 2004.
Her boundless fascination and joy exploring and researching Contact Improvisation in all its depth and subtleties, inspires her workshops, privates, ongoing classes, and each of the projects she creates.
Her work recognizes nature, improvisation and teaching itself as core sources for knowledge and understanding.
Meeting the moment, she offers organic support for the individual and the instant community as it emerges, allowing each to feel, find and follow what they need to learn and dance.
Some of her current projects are: Contact Jahresgruppe Berlin, Contact Year Hamburg, CI BASIC Training Program Hamburg, and Nature as Teacher Workshops.
