Artist Bio -
Ravneet Marwaha is a commercial and fine-art photographer based in Massachusetts. Her work has been showcased in numerous group exhibitions, spanning from Boston, MA to Rome, Italy. Born and raised in India, her life has been characterized by a continuous journey of learning and exploration.
Having led a nomadic existence, residing in various places, and immersing herself in diverse cultures, she attended eleven different schools, growing up with a perpetual sense of movement and change, often without a stable sense of belonging. This unique upbringing has cultivated her ability to keenly observe as an "outsider," perpetually seeking commonalities in cultures and people while finding meaning in the ordinary moments of daily life.
Ravneet started taking photographs in 1994, with a Nikon EF200 she bought with her saved up pocket money. This initial spark paved the way for her artistic journey, which led her to the New England School of Photography in Waltham, Massachusetts. There, she honed her skills and delved deeper into the craft, expanding her understanding of photography as art, science and magic.
Having resided in various cities around the world and immersing herself in diverse cultures, her commitment to unraveling the unseen threads that unite us all has grown even stronger. Through her lens, Ravneet invites viewers to contemplate the profound significance of seemingly ordinary objects and moments, elevating them to a level of appreciation and introspection.
