Co-presented with Dalhousie University Fountain School of Performing Arts

This vibrant program connects composers across continents and centuries through the shared language of folk spirit and expressive storytelling. A Mozart violin/viola duo opens with elegance and wit, and Kodály’s Intermezzo for string trio adds Hungarian rustic flair. The evening closes with Dohnányi’s lush and dramatic Piano Quartet - a youthful masterpiece blending Romantic sweep with Hungarian soul. A program of bold voices, cultural threads, and music in conversation.

Featuring Leonardo Perez, violin; Elizabeth Upson Perez, viola; Shimon Walt, cello; Philip Chiu, piano

PROGRAM:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Duo for Violin and Viola in B-flat Major, K. 424
Zoltán Kodály: Intermezzo for String Trio (1905)
Luis Delgadillo - Three Pieces
Ernő Dohnányi: Piano Quartet in F-sharp minor, Op. 1
