Goodwill San Diego and San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) present From the Unwanted to the Unbelievable – a student design challenge that transforms ordinary, donated textiles into extraordinary, purposeful products. Discover how unwanted textiles can be turned into extraordinary, real‑world solutions. This public showcase invites you to explore inventive student projects, shop from sustainability-focused vendors, gain insights from expert panelists, and see how circular design reduces waste and inspires change.

What you’ll experience

• Inspiring exhibits & voting: Engage with student creations and cast your vote for your favorites; winners will be announced at the close of the event and advance to the Textile Recovery Summit located at the Gaylord Resort Feb. 23 -25.
• Marketplace: Browse and shop sustainable, locally made textile goods from community upcyclers and innovators.
• Expert insights: Hear practical tips, explanations, and stories from regional leaders advancing textile recovery and upcycling.

Panelists will include Elizabeth Davis from award-winning non-profit Solana Center, Maren Kavanagh from waste-free non-profit I Love a Clean San Diego, Kornelija Newcomer, upcycle educator and designer of Kornelija Art, and Jessica Schwartz, upcycle educator and founder of Rehumanize.
