FROM THE ROOTS UP:Apprenticehip in Bioregional Herbalism
1 Sunday or Monday/mo, March-Nov 2026
Amherst/Northampton, MA area
Yr 1 + 2 options
With herbalist Jade Alicandro of Milk & Honey Herbs
www.milkandhoneyherbs.com
When I first started studying herbalism, what excited me most was the idea of meeting the plants- in real time- that I'd been spending countless hours reading about in books and online…this course is born from that longing. We meet the plants in their chosen habitats and spend time connecting with the land and these numinous plant beings who inhabit it. In my humble opinion, there's no better way to learn herbalism than from the plants themselves. And, of course, I'll be your guide on this journey as well!
At its heart, this course is all about connection. We all come from plant people, be it an ancestor one generation back or fifty. This class is a remembering. Of our ancestral connection to the plants. Of herbal medicine. Of trust in nature. Of trust in ourselves.
Our focus is on folk medicine-making, sustainable wildcrafting, building the home apothecary, herbal ecology and plant ID, and nurturing relationships with our locally abundant medicinal plants.
We meet the plant in person, right where they're growing, on local farms throughout the CT River Valley.
