Having the courage and wherewithal to play The Hip as they remember the actual band, live and raw with will and determination oh, and grace, too. “Killer Whale Tank” and “Double Suicide” (iykyk) renditions have made their way onto shows when the weight comes down, It’s a beautiful thing, really.

With a front man that honours Gord Downie, not with imitation but inspiration, not to mention a guitarist virtuoso, they’ve been known to jam and rant and then jam and rant again, sorry, eh.

“This is how we’ve watched them since we were kids, how else are we supposed to do it?”

Passionate musicians and long-time Tragically Hip fans, FROM THE HIP strive to honour the band's music in the most respectful way possible. Their goal is to keep the bands tradition and music alive through a live performance full of energy and passion.

Established in Toronto in 2018, the band is quickly becoming the most authentic Tragically Hip tribute band around. From the Hip gives the utmost care to pay tribute to the energy, musical creativity and joy of an actual Tragically Hip show. Their set list includes fan favourites such as "Courage" and "Fully Completely" as well as radio hits like "New Orleans is Sinking" and "Ahead by a Century."

From the Hip aims to meticulously recreate the sound of the band - from the guitar riffs and bass lines to the unique sound of Gord Downie's vocals.
