About this Event
From The Ground Up is a celebration of Black culture, creativity, and community, featuring the DMV’s top Black-owned vendors, restaurant pop-ups, performances, fashion, art, and more. Hosted at The Square DC, this event offers an elevated atmosphere where creatives, entrepreneurs, and the community can connect and celebrate.
Enjoy food and drink specials from The Square’s international food market, ranging from Jamaican to Asian flavors and beyond. Explore a curated marketplace of unique, Black-owned businesses, vintage thrift, and a Black Cowboy exhibit by visual artist Brandon Hill.
With live art, performances, drink specials, and DJ sets by AP, DJ BRI MAFIA, and LELYND DARKES, FROM THE GROUND UP is where culture, creativity, and community come together.

Join us on February 28, 2025, from 6 PM - 11 PM at The Square DC, and celebrate Black excellence in a space designed to uplift and empower in Chocolate City.
Tickets are available online and a percentage of procees will benefit the National Urban League, a 501c(3) organization that supports black and brown communities.
