For the first time in Dallas, one of Colombia’s most powerful voices comes to our backyard. Nidia Góngora—legendary singer, composer, and guardian of Pacific coastal traditions—will perform in our backyard. Opening the night is Dallas-based Colombian DJ and producer Elkin Pautt, setting the tone with deep rhythms and textures from across the Afro-diasporic spectrum.
NIDIA GÓNGORA
Known internationally for her collaborations with producer Quantic, and most recently with artists like Feid and poet Shirley Campbell Barr, Nidia Góngora bridges generations and geographies. A native of Timbiquí, she leads the renowned group Canalón de Timbiquí, and her solo work, including Pacífica Maravilla, has brought her luminous voice and poetic spirit to the global stage—from Latin Grammy® nominations to features in The Guardian and The New York Times.
More than a performer, Góngora is a cultural force. Her music draws from the deep waters of Colombia’s Pacific coast, where the marimba, call-and-response vocals, and ancestral memory converge. In a tradition where women’s voices lead the way, her songs carry the weight of history and the joy of celebration. Through her foundation and decades of community work, she ensures that these sounds—recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage—continue to live, breathe, and transform.
