About this Event
Ever wanted to make your own clothes but didn’t know where to start? Join our Intro to Dressmaking class, guided by Yolanda, the talented head of ladies’ tailoring for the last two seasons of Outlander and former costume designer for the Scottish Opera. Yolanda brings her expertise and industry experience into the classroom, providing you with foundational dressmaking skills and hands-on guidance.
In this beginner-friendly course, you’ll start with the “Hansie” top, a simple yet stylish woven t-shirt pattern from the popular indie designer Seamwork. This project is perfect for beginners and will help you learn key skills like cutting patterns, handling fabric, and basic sewing techniques.
By the end of this series of workshops, you’ll have at least one finished piece to wear with pride and the skills to embark on your dressmaking journey.
This workshop will continue in the new year.
