From Silk to Symphony: Chinese Concert

Featuring fiddles(erhu, zhonghu, cello), winds(dizi,xiao), plucked strings(guzheng, guqin, pipa, zhongruan, yangqin), and percussion, Qingyun Chines Music Ensemble at UM will trace a musical journey with you from the Jiangnan water towns of Yangtze to Dunhuang's Silk Road frontier, bringing together traditional folk songs as well as creative modern concert works. The concert will culminate with an interactive instrument tryout on stage and invite audiences to connect directly with the sounds and the culture behind the music.
