Jeanne Carver, the longtime Central Oregon resident and founder/president of Shaniko Wool Company has stewarded land in Wasco County for more than thirty years, coming into deep relationship with the landscape and lifeways of the high desert. Her work has been featured on runways, in scientific publications, on the needles of fiber artists around the world, and in the official Team USA uniforms worn at the last five Winter Olympics.
Jeanne will present on her tireless work to support the ecology of the Deschutes Basin through her dedication to land and craft. Don't miss this chance to meet Jeanne, get up close to the official Team USA outfits, and experience the generations long story of ranching in Central Oregon.

About the Speaker:
Jeanne Carver is the Founder and President of Shaniko Wool Company, the only supplier of Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and NATIVA Regenerative certified wool produced in the U.S.
Jeanne is a rancher, award-winning agricultural entrepreneur and author. Since 2014, she has been the source and voice of American wool for Ralph Lauren’s Made in America Team USA uniforms for 5 Olympics. She has received numerous awards including the American Sheep Industry Innovation Award, Oregon State University College of Agricultural Sciences Hall of Fame Award, and honored as a Global Trailblazer at Oregon’s Celebrate Trade Gala in 2025. She was featured in His Majesty at 75: The Leadership and Vision of King Charles III, for her work in regenerative wool production and promoting the provenance of wool in fashion.
