About this Event
This talk covers the evolution of electronic communications from the early days of telegraphy and telephony to the introduction of the Radio based services that have grown into the cell phone we all have attached to us today. Covers a bit of the physics and science associated with this evolution, as well as the hand-full of entrepreneurs who saw a vision of a future based on lab experiments, the governmental and regulatory decisions that helped advance initial wireless services, and the subsidiary new technologies that changed society (the home computer and rise of the Internet) and bled over into the wireless world to became standard features of the modern cell phone.
