In this hands-on workshop presented with Canon, attendees won’t just watch—they’ll shoot. You’ll work alongside Vanessa as she demonstrates how to create intentional portraits using Canon gear, light, and direction that translates beautifully from camera to final output.
From there, Vanessa will walk through her real-world editing workflow, showing exactly how she prepares images for print—color accuracy, contrast decisions, and file prep included. You’ll then see the final step many photographers skip: printing. Learn how to confidently turn a digital file into a tangible, high-quality print that elevates your work and increases its value, plus hear the business side and how Vanessa uses printing for both profit acceleration and marketing for new business.

Vanessa Joy has been photographing luxury weddings and corporate marketing initiatives, and educating photographers worldwide. She focuses her business in NJ, NYC and Austin, TX but travels 150+ days a year for photography. Vanessa Joy is a highly sought after, industry-leading photographer in the wedding, business and portrait space. She has been an influential speaker in the community for well over a decade.
Starting her photographic journey in 1998, she has since been named a Canon Explorer of Light, an accolade given to only 5 wedding photographers in the country, earned 5 college degrees, and a PPA Photographic Craftsman degree.
