About this Event
Whether you’re staring at a blank page or sitting on a stack of poems you aren’t sure how to share, this workshop is for you. Join published local poets r.k. gandhi and Ana Dee for an intimate, hands-on evening designed to help you move from private drafts to publication.
You’ll gain the practical tools needed to refine your craft, find your voice, and navigate the "nitty-gritty" of the poetry industry.
What You’ll Learn
Our hosts are pulling back the curtain on the industry to share the real-world steps they took to get their work into print.
We will cover:
The Creative Process: How to write past the blank canvas, push through writer’s block, and generate your own unique prompts.
The Path to Publication: The specific steps R.K. and Ana took to move from writing at home to being published authors.
The Professional Side: How to submit to journals, enter competitions, and use those wins to help fund your work.
The Editor’s Lens: What editors are actually looking for in a submission.
The Evening’s Schedule
The night begins with R.K. and Ana introducing their work and personal publishing journeys. This leads into a guided interview on writing techniques and the path to publication, followed by an open Q&A where you can ask the experts anything!
The final portion of the evening is dedicated to a guided writing workshop with both hosts. You'll have time to generate new material on the spot, with an optional space for sharing and feedback at the end.

This workshop is for aspiring poets looking to get published, students building a portfolio, or anyone ready to take their writing more seriously.
